The Phases of Aging

Research company Mintel identified three phases of aging for adults that directly influence the types of spa services and products they need and want:

Aging Early Planners: People in their mid-30s to mid-40s who are aware of and concerned about the early signs of aging will be interested in products and services aimed at preventing, limiting, and controlling its effects.

Age Prevention Seekers: At ages 45 to 54, people are becoming more anxious and proactive about age prevention. They're more committed to diet and lifestyle measures and will look for message-specific products and services, such as "prevents wrinkles and age lines."

Age Reduction Seekers: Less concerned about looks and more focused on health and longevity, people 65 and older are most interested in illness prevention (sun protection products are key) and enhancing quality of life with wellness treatments and exercise.
