Be sure to use a good oil such as vitamin E oil for your massage base. Never rub your skin with bare fingers as that is too harsh for the delicate skin on the face.
One of the first things to do is to drain the lymphatic glands around the face. This helps improve circulation and clears out toxins. Start by crossing your hands with your palms facing you. Gently swipe at your collarbone area outwards in swift but light motions. Do this for a count of ten.
Next, take your hands in the same fashion and move them gently in downwards strokes along your neck. Again, do it for a count of ten. Now, place your curved fingertips alongside your mouth area. Swipe or flick the area for a count of 10. Move your fingers up to your undereye area and tap each gently with your ring finger for five counts.
These simple motions will engage the lymph glands in the face and help them release toxins. You might feel some sensations in the back of your throat as you do these exercises. This is a sign you are releasing those toxins so just clear your throat, and drink some water.
Doing these exercises first thing in the morning is a great way to prep your skin for the day. It is also a good way to get rid of puffiness on the face and under the eyes.
